Natural Fiber Welding, Inc. produces robust, moldable and highly functional materials from the most plentiful natural fibers on the planet – including both virgin and waste materials such as cotton, silk, wood, agave and hemp, to name a few. We are working with nature to unlock its potential, while enabling the rich chemistries of natural materials to create sustainable, renewable, low cost alternatives that can be and do more than synthetics, which are subject to critical manufacturing limitations that rely too heavily on non-renewable fossil resources. Through our patented and patent pending research and development and manufacturing programs, we are poised to disrupt petroleum-based manufacturing for a wide variety of applications within the textiles, paper, building materials and composites industries.

Through a unique process, AAE is able to convert plastic and rubber waste into diesel oil and other valuable by-products. While improving the environment and addressing a public health crisis, AAE provides direct jobs to over a dozen employees, and indirect work to a network of waste collectors. The pilot factory in Ghana is operational and the team is actively seeking to scale this model to further the social impact.

Founded in 2010 by nine-year old Ellie, KidKnits builds awareness of world poverty and cultures while empowering youth to change the world by knitting with fair trade yarn. Though it is a non-profit, KidKnits operates as a social business as it is sustained off of the sale of yarn and knitting craft kits. All donations to KidKnits are used to provide yarn, kits, and curriculum to schools who want to provide the KidKnits experience to their students but cannot otherwise afford to do so.
